We Believe Healthcare Technology Carries Responsibility.
Our work is grounded in a simple idea: technology should blend seamlessly into care environments designed to reduce risk, prevent harm, protect patients, and support the teams delivering care.
We develop revolutionary technologies and platforms that augment perception, memory, and prediction. By focusing on real-time awareness, thoughtful intervention, and privacy-first design, we help healthcare organizations reduce preventable safety issues, improve outcomes, and create safer, more supportive environments for patients and staff.
Our focus is long-term impact. We work alongside healthcare organizations to drive meaningful, lasting change.

Our History.
Today
AIMS operates as essential, base-building, AI infrastructure in leading health systems, deployed at institutional scale to address the most complex challenges in modern healthcare.
How we got here
2012
Lumenix is founded and becomes a leading provider of digital lighting solutions, hardware, software, sensors, and controls, serving and trusted by over 10,000 customers across healthcare, commercial, residential, industrial, and retail sectors in North America.
Early Clinical Development
Designed by clinicians, for clinicians, at Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH), the Artificially Intelligent Monitoring System (AIMS) was originally developed over more than seven years to tackle the persistent challenge of hand hygiene compliance and hospital-acquired infections, grounded in the complex realities of pediatric care environments and the need to protect vulnerable populations.
2020
Lumenix acquires the AIMS technology to develop it further and scale its impact, transforming it into an enterprise-grade ambient perception-action AI platform built to improve safety, reduce preventable harm, and support care teams across complex healthcare environments.
The Government of Canada conducts extensive due diligence on Lumenix and its AIMS Platform, resulting in the sole source procurement of AIMS for installation at The Ottawa Hospital. The Federal Government procurement process validates the AIMS Platform is a global first.
2021
The Government of Canada leads a Clinical Validation of the AIMS Platform at The Ottawa Hospital, which validates the functionality, performance, and data accuracy of the platform. The AIMS Platform exceeds expectations.
2022
The Lumenix Innovation Vanguard, led by Dr. Jeremy Grimshaw, Medical Director, Senior Scientist, Implementation & Behavioral Science Research, is established to support the production of robust clinical research designed to evaluate and create generalizable knowledge about the effects of the AIMS Platform’s growing number of applications.
2023
Lumenix and its AIMS Platform are vetted and Lumenix is invited to join the Clean Hospitals Network in Geneva, where it is recognized as the leading patient monitoring system by global infection control and patient safety leaders.
AIMS 3.0 is launched, introducing an expanding number of applications offered on a single underlying intelligence platform.
2024
AIMS is selected as the AI platform partner for the Government of Canada’s Canadian Bio-Manufacturing and Vaccine Development Program, supporting the establishment of GMP-accreditation capability.
2025
Lumenix’s Chairman and CEO is invited to lecture at the World Health Organization’s International Conference on Prevention & Infection Control (ICPIC 2025) in Geneva, and Lumenix is separately invited to present an academic poster at the conference.
2026
Lumenix launches AIMS 4.0 globally, representing a significant advancement in the platform’s environmental understanding, predictive intelligence, and on-device computing.
